Ho ho ho,
Tis the season and all that jazz! For the last several years I haven't been able to do nearly as many nail art looks for Christmas as I have wanted to. It's been pretty disappointing because I'm such a fan of this holiday, and of all the many many plates I own Christmas is probably the one theme I own the most type of plates from across my entire collection. I'm a bit helplessly drawn to these plates. So this year I decided even if I can't do a bunch of my mega complex manis I'm definitely going to fit in more Christmas nail art magic this year. One way is by doing what I call simples and for the first time I wanted to create a holiday playlist on my Youtube channel to go along with the art. I'll have to do a separate post for the tutorial though since I haven't finished editing the video
OPI's What's Your Point-settia is gorgeous! Creamy and super glossy and opaque in 2 coats. For the longest time I only loved Big Apple Red as my go to red polish, but I seriously have to re-evaluate that stance after trying this one. This is from the 2014 Holiday Collection btw.
The gradient with Red Fingers and Mistletoes is very subtle. Pretty much dies away except for the shimmer. I love blushing gradients. I coined that term a long time ago to describe gradients exactly like this - where there is a kiss of color difference starting toward the cuticles and then just fading away.
Macro below shows off the glow of Red Fingers better....
So yeah even though this was pretty simple nail art I really love how it turned out! Sometimes simple is best :)
So there we have it first Christmas mani of the season! What do you think? Not expecting a ton of accolades since for me this is pretty simple and almost atypical of my standard nail art these days lol. Though sometimes I really do think classic is gorgeous too! I actually found these polishes at my local Target on display not sure if they were aware they were last seasons polishes, but I love them anyway. Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post!
